3D/4D Ultrasound – Early Bonding

in Blog, Ultrasound Services

3D/4D Ultrasound is an elective procedure which, like 2D Ultrasound, uses soundwaves to “peek” inside mom’s womb.  3D Ultrasound captures still images which may include distinct features and even facial expressions.  4D Ultrasound captures detailed video, so you can actually watch your baby move, see and hear his/her heartbeat, and, in some cases, even watch them suck their thumb.  The best images usually occur between 26-34 weeks.  Some women choose to come several times during this period.  Others have 3D/4D Ultrasound performed every few weeks to document the miracle their entire pregnancy. While most parents bond with their child after only one visit, many choose to return multiple times to deepen their bond even further.

Should I Get a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

Baby on the Way!

One of the most exciting experiences in life is happening to you right now!  Whether this is your first or fifth child, pregnancy is an incredible and beautiful gift.  Years ago, women only had the option of 2D Ultrasound.  This black and white thermal image was impressive at the time, offering a basic photo of baby inside mom’s womb.  Today, technology has advanced to allow us to capture much more detailed images of your baby in utero.  This gives mom, dad, grandparents and even siblings the opportunity to bond with baby well before he/she is born.

A Family Affair!

Our 3D/4D Ultrasound rooms are super comfy and cozy!  Invite family and friends to enjoy this experience with you.  Children are welcome and encouraged to come, too.  It is amazing to watch a child’s face light up when they see their sibling inside mommy’s “belly” for the very first time!

Gender Determination

If you want to know your baby’s gender, our trained sonographer will be happy to share it with you. 3D/4D Ultrasound can generally be used to determine gender as early as 15 weeks. Sometimes gender cannot be immediately determined based on your baby’s position.

What is 4D Ultrasound?

in Blog, Ultrasound Services

“4D” is means four-dimensional – the fourth dimension is time. 4D ultrasound is the latest, most advanced prenatal ultrasound technology. 4D takes three-dimensional or 3D ultrasound images and adds the element of time to create a 4D ultrasound video. 3D ultrasound photos and 4D ultrasound videos allow you to see your baby in amazing detail. Take a look at some of our 3D ultrasound photos.
